The Practical Cyclist is brick and mortal shop offering bicycle sales and service. We want more people to ride bicycles for fun and transportation in and around Washington, DC. People’s lives get better with bikes.

What we do

• We fix bikes. We're good at it, we've been doing it for many years. Click for more.

• We stock utilitarian parts and accessories, and some fancy-pants items. We'll try to get some inventory online soon.

• We offer some non-traditional service models, a DIY workbench, and some classes and workshops. We'll get a calendar online soon.

We want to be the kind of shop you WANT to visit. The kind where you can hang out, bring your kid, have a chat and a cup of good enough coffee.

We're ALMOST open for business. If the lights are on or the door is open, stop by and say hi.
